Build a Better Birder at the Prairie Woods Nature Center
We have an exciting program series coming up that I’d like to highlight. “Building a Better Birder Workshops” are a series of local citizen scientist programs designed to create better bird identification skills and to promote local participation with citizen science projects. All programs and hikes will be/start at the Prairie Woods Nature Center in Oak Grove. Please preregister. The programs include research presentations, bird walks, and identification presentations. They are conducted by Kelly McKay (BioEco Research and Monitoring Center), with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) and Brian Ritter (Nahant Marsh Education Center). Funding for this workshop was provided by the Resource Enhancement and Protection-Conservation Education Program (REAP-CEP). All programs will take place at the Prairie Woods Nature Center at Oak Grove Park. The hikes are open to any age. The presentations are aimed at a young adult and adult audience. Note the Oct 20 Senior Programs are part of our SELF. Pre-registration for all programs at www.siouxcountypark.org. 712/552-3057 for questions.
